Some women may experience infrequent periods or they may be totally absent due to menstrual cycle disorders. At times some women may not consider missing a period as a serious issue but it is important to remember that it could be an indication of an underlying medical condition that may have potentially long term health consequences and hence should be discussed with your health care professional. Ideally, if you miss more than three menstrual periods either during the course of a year or consecutively you should see a doctor.
